Its heart is historic First Street between San Pedro Street and Central Avenue, where a number of original 1880s era buildings remain. Among the most popular attractions are its many sushi bars, ramen houses, sweet shops and karaoke bars. The open-air Japanese Village Plaza is a go-to shopping hub. Little Tokyo is also home to the Japanese American National Museum, the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center, the Geffen Contemporary (part of the MOCA) and a number of cutting-edge theaters.
